When people search for a neighborhood to call home they’re often searching for a neighborhood that has “Community Pride.” It can be difficult to pin down exactly what mix of factors create this- but according to Realtor and Southwood Estates homeowner Erin Dobrinski- Southwood Estates in the community of Sunrise definitely has it!
“I love the fact that I can walk for miles for exercise and stay in the neighborhood,” says Erin. “The neighbors are out on the weekends and summertime evenings and everyone chats and gets together.”
That sense of community and connection has led to Southwood Estates being the kind of place where the neighbors know each other and get together often. “On Halloween, we usually have a fire pit in our front driveway and all the neighbors get together for a glass of wine, a beer, and we visit while we are handing out candy.” says Erin. “People really watch out for each other and help each other – if we are on vacation, our neighbors will grab our paper and our mail, we will pay their kiddo to water our flowers, et cetera.”
According to Erin, the neighborhood has continued to thrive in spite of the housing crisis, “Our neighborhood is a seller’s market – homes sell quickly and for top market value.”
